Chamber cuts ribbon for Community Therapy Clinic

The Barbara Olson Center of Hope celebrated the grand opening of its new Community Therapy Clinic Thursday, May 31.

The clinic is open to teens and adults with autism, sensory issues or developmental disabilities.

More than 30 guests of the center and many Rockford Chamber of Commerce ambassadors attended the ribbon cutting.

Tours of the center highlighted special new programs and activities that were made possible by collaborations with the Mill Foundation, the Rockford Dance Company, the Rockford Area Arts Council, the United Cerebral Palsy Backhawk Region Fund and the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois.

Kendall Boone, M.D. spoke to the guests about the significance of a community therapy clinic for adults with special needs.

The Barbara Olson Center of Hope is a developmental training facility serving the Rockford area since 1948. Carm Herman is the center's executive director.
